Stinky Pants Fishing

FAQs

Yes! You can simply cut the wire with side cutters to the length you desire and it will still work with the removable float.

The clip needs to go behind the metal stake end of the stringer. The height difference from the wire to the stake will not allow the clip to come off

I recommend a stainless-steel split ring but you can use a carabiner or other quick connectors. If you are going off shore or worried about sharks hitting your stringer I recommend using something that can break like heavy mono or smaller zip ties if a certain amount of force is applied to them.

It could but it is not guaranteed. The clip is designed to work with a Stinky stringer and is manufactured to the exact wire dimensions of our stringers.

The stringer clip we sell is the easiest solution you will find.

Yes, the wire has a 920lb breaking strength, and I have seen everything from muskies to king fish to 100lb alligator gar on the stringers with no problems.

Come from the top of the fish and go through the thin part of the top lip and then through the thin skin on the bottom lip of the fish. Putting the stringer through both lips keeps the fish’s mouth closed and allows it to breath normally and keeps it alive better. This will also keep the teeth off the stringer causing less wear to the stringer.
